Site technical issues [ Announcements ]

I know several of you guys have had issues with the site lately. This is one of the problems I am trying to address with a potential move to a new site software product. The program we use currently doesn't scale well, and as we are getting more users and more data, it's running into problems.

The problem at hand is the forum data. I can fairly easily port everything else, including users, to a new program and database, but since we are approaching 30,000 forum posts...THAT IS A LOT OF DATA to try to import manually. Paying a company to do it is also pretty much out of the question.

So I am considering my options, and I hope to be able to make a decision soon. I'll try to keep you guys informed as I go along.

Considering the way my concert calendar is stacking up, I'd say late January is preferable, but I could do early as well.

I'm voting for early January, because the timing would be right for an NYC visit for me. Alas, I probably wouldn't be able to do any auditioning but at least I wouldn't be spending $$$ to visit in December.
